Panumbagan sandbar @ Pilar, Sorsogon

When I read about Gov. Salceda's posts about Panumbagan Sandbar, I was already dying to see it for myself. Luckily, my sister in-law works for Pilar LGU so she arranged for our trip.

and we are ready to go...

After travelling from Pilar port for thirty minutes, we finally had a glimpse of the floating cottages that the guide was telling us about. They were actually dropping us by at their marine sanctuary. And to enjoy it, we have to snorkel. Sounds exciting!  The guide was kind enough to teach us the basics. And after learning to breath with the goggles on, he guided us one by one through the waters.

...and it isn't scary after all being on deep sea waters. Or am I just being confident with the lifevest and my lifeguard?

We were all so excited about snorkeling...

We didn' t have underwater cameras but I can assure that the view underwater was amazing. Besides it is much better to see it for yourselves than looking at pictures.
The whole gang in the midst of the sea
the floating cottages
If I got it right, rental is 800 pesos.

Our first view of the sandbar

This is the underwater near the sand bar
We were so eager to walk the sandbar leading to the beach. Good thing we wore our slippers since it is so hot and there were small pebbles that hurts. And thankful that I am wearing longsleeves because the heat of the sun was unforgiving.

Starfish everywhere

Crissy and the girls...
Mayon Volcano is suppose to be our background, if not for the clouds

Mga dyesebel daw...we can' t help but submerged ourselves after walking in a freakingly hot weather
Dylan loves the goggles on

The wonderful views while on the boat ride will make you forget about the travel time.
Sea urchin...we tried tasting it. It was like oysters but the thought that it looks like that makes eating scary

Boat rental plus tour guide costs Php2500. You have to register with the tourism office though. They will provide the guide who would accompany you to the marine sanctuary.

Just a reminder though, there is no comfort room available yet. And of course, you should bring your own food and drinking water.
