Cumadcad-dun

While having our breakfast, an idea just pop out of his mind to go driving, this time taking the Sorsogon way. It's a beautiful Friday morning, and with our house clothes on, we were off to Cumadcad, Castilla, Sorsogon, the next town from our home when going south. I grew up hearing "cumadcad-dun" which is used to describe when you see someone wearing loud colors or flowery one.

well maintained roads and zero traffic
the signage, i guess 3 kms away from our house
next on our list....bulusan lake
the public market
when we went inside there were not so many choices, the fish, meat and vegetable section is comparable to our own Anislag mini-market
i think the new portion of the market, unoccupied yet

the establishments lining up the streets
oh, well this is actually a town, but I visualize Anislag looking like these soon
most visible establishment is a Petron gas station. Likewise, the stores of low cost motorcycle brands, RUSI and RACAL. There is also an existing subdivision.
the police station
there is no signage yet, but i guess this is their newly constructed municipal hall

we were actually on the hunt for "hinog na langka" but this what we got.
no plastic bag available
quite big bananas

Cagsawa Festival 2013

For the second year in a row, we were among the crowd who braved the afternoon sun to watch the much awaited part of the month long festivity, the Street presentation.

Of course, it won't "wow" Crissy who is used to Dinagyang and Pintados. I was missing the drum beats too, but over all, the parade had improved a lot from last year. It just looks like the DaragueƱos are not supportive enough for activities like these. I don't know I can't help the comparison, Ilonggos are always excited when their festivals are coming and they talk about it with such pride.

But it's so heartwarming when we we bump with no less than the Governor himself, walking with the crowd. All I was able to utter was a quiet "Good afternoon po!"

A Sunday up in the sky

with baby always excited with our travels
We talked about leaving at 7:00 am for Tiwi, but we ended up after lunch. It was a rainy morning, so every one were tied down in bed.  But still, after Crissy and I enumerated our possible options we decided to push through with the original travel plans  since the kids would insist that we go. Nikki has been wishing for the Mayon Skyline since she's never been there. "Saan nga ba talaga tayo pupunta? sabi ng mga bata. Sabi ko,basta aakyatin natin ang Mayon at maiiwan doon ang pinaka-makulit.

finally! they are here for the first time.
natakot sila pumasok sa planetarium at sabi ko may quiz paglabas
ang alam pa naman nila na planeta 'yong nag-iexist sa power rangers
The weather was fine when we were heading to Tiwi, but when we are half on our way to the skyline it started to drizzle. I think I was seriously praying for the safety of our travel that  I didn't even noticed that we have reached our destination. It was already raining hard so Crissy check if it was okay to have our foods be eaten at the cafe. We bought our snacks with us but I couldn't resist anyway ordering the bihon guisado which was more than I expected. The serving was enough for all of us at 190 pesos only.  Thank God, that we were able to take some pictures when the rain stopped for a while.

the whole gang, thanks to our photographer AJK, yon talaga role niya
mines view daw ang peg sa sobrang kapal ng fog at super lamig na paligid.

the foggy road

They weren't able to see the crater that I was telling them about since it was foggy. Over all, they enjoyed the cold climate.

a little note...nanibago sila doon sa mga bata na nag-aabang sa kalye kung bakit kumakaway lahat. The kids who are used to tourists may be who throw them coins. But it looks real dangerous if they will race for it.

Borja-Madrona Wedding

weddings, weddings, who wouldn't love to witness one?
We attended a wedding two days after the valentine.  I really don't know personally the couple. We were invited by the groom's parents who happens to be our godparents on our wedding.

nikki followed the motiff
the newly weds...they really look good together and  i bet madly in love with each other
"...and you may now kiss the bride"

their first dance

@ the wedding reception

ouch! i got to do something with that excess thing in my face....hahaha

I think I could still count with my fingers the instances that i attended weddings, and I love this one specially talking about the food.

our valentine

We started the day having the usual breakfast in our garden which we usually do when it's not raining. And it got me in the mood because I spotted two ripe guavas on the tree just right at our doorstep. It became my habit  to search for guavas while sipping my coffee.

This year we decided to have our date on lunchtime. Coming from a bad experience last year when we were able to eat at 10pm already due to crowded places. We picked Kouzina Tyche since it's nearer from where we came from.

the sinigang na bangus belly at Kouzina Tyche
Oh well, the food was good, only that I was disappointed with their bottomless ice tea. Besides that it wasn't cold, it didn't taste like ice tea.

And with Crissy, I don't expect flowers, chocolates or stuffed toy. But he bought me a set of cutlery and white pillow cases which I've been eyeing for a long time now. I was happy with that of course. But I was even happier when all of a sudden he bought me too a LED TV for our room. Now, that's more than those flowers I could dream of.

At night time we went out with my friend and his hubby. This was the first time we were together.

love month

"Any bitch can spend a man's money, ride in his car, lay in his house, order off the menu and spread her legs. But only a real woman can help a man achieve his goals in life, support him when he’s broke, push him to be successful, shower him with positive energy, compliment him on a regular basis and never kick him while he’s down. If you find a woman like that, WIFE HER!!!!"

lucky him, he did found that woman. and he was so right to marry her.
ahemm...of course, I am also that bitch at the same time, hahaha.

after years of marriage, I wished things were still that simple and uncomplicated. I was reading this a while ago, 101sure signs if he loves you and it's so heartwarming to reminisce the boyfriend-girlfriend stage. I wish husbands would remain, even if not obsessed or addicted, just simply in love with their wives all throughout. I wish they would still:

  • hold hands while walking
  • give each other a quick kiss in public
  • whisper something in a middle of a crowd
  • laugh heartily together
Ours maybe different and we still do such things because we don't have kids yet and since he works away, when he's here, he is really on vacation and all mine. But I have seen couples who doesn't even want to be seen walking together. And it gets me affected! I will be forever crazily romantic. It isn't a case of public display of affection, these simple gestures makes a woman special. I wish wives would be treated the same way when men were patiently waiting for their "YES".
