The Road of Life

Down the road of life you must follow your heart.
keep your dreams in front of you.
Know the direction you are going.
Learn to notice the signs along the way.
If you always know who you are and where you are heading,
a wrong turn or bumpy road or two won't slow you down long.

Accept your mistakes and learn from them.
No matter how many curves a winding road might throw at you,
if you keep your road map in front of you,
you will eventually arrive at your destination.

Proceed with caution.
Do not be distracted by onlookers and tailgaters.
You are in the driver's seat.
Only you know where to go to be happy.
If you hitch a ride with someone else,
you may arrive at his destination, instead of your own.

Travel the open road at your own speed.
If you need direction, be careful that those pointing the way
do not have selfish motives.
Beware of one-way streets.
Do not fret if those who could point the way
have lost their pointing fingers.

If detours arise, take an alternate route.
Do not yield when charting unfamiliar territory.
It could lead to your destiny.
Take life's highway,
don't miss your exit,
and be sure the parking space you select
feels like home.
