Jawili Beach

Jawili Beach is the pride of Tangalan, Aklan. Tangalan is two towns away from Kalibo and also to Caticlan. It is just a 10 minute drive from the town proper and no need to worry about the road because it’s also paved. We booked at Ecologico resort, which was the last one out of the resort lining the beach. And, we only know when we got there, that it is now named Sanctuary resort.

The accommodation was fair enough since for an air-conditioned room good for four, you only pay PHP600 a night. It already has a TV though it can only access one channel. The good thing also about the resort was the caretakers offered to cook our foods. She was even the one who bought it at the market since we didn’t bring anything to eat.

Jawili beach is wonderful if you want utmost privacy. Yes, at daytime there were about a few picnic cottages occupied but in the late afternoon we got the beach by ourselves. The water is so pristine and just one downside is the sand though white is not as powdery as of Boracay. It’s because the sea is mainly for fishing so expect to see some fishing boats outside the resorts. There is no nightlife at Jawili but it didn’t bother us at all. We were swimming until past 7pm and security was not a problem.

It was the best morning I ever had, waking up with my husband beside and seeing the magnificent view of the sea through the window. All the rooms there face the sea.
