‘T was April 14.Saturday. Barangay fiesta of
Mantulang, the place where my husband's family came from. We were invited by
some of his relatives. We were on the dot for lunch but as what some fiestas
turn-out to be, we were left with nothing to eat, hehehe. And, as what Cris can
become when he’s hungry, he just walked-out. But in due fairness, his relative
has apologized about the incident and for me it wasn’t a big deal. Things like
these do happen and it’s beyond our control.
Anyway, we proceeded to his cousin’s house who has been texting us throughout. They did not really prepare for the occasion but just the same they will have something for lunch. They had “ubad” for viand. It’s a vegetable dish with banana stalks and monggo beans as the main ingredient. But they put in native chicken. Actually, it was my first time to eat it too and it’s not that bad.
After that, we just had the usual “chikahan”. We weren’t able to cap the day with the buko as we’ve planned, since someone who just hop in with us was raring to go home. I just had a good time then, taking pictures on our way.
bright, sunny day just made my day!
